Big Savings at Target!!

I took a trip to Target with my huge envelope of coupons, and came home with some good stuff!! I bought $107 worth of groceries.... and only spent $38 out of pocket!! That's a savings of $79!!
Here is a breakdown of some of the deals....
5 boxes of Triscuits ($.54 each)
5 boxes of Wheat Thins ($.94 each)
2 boxes of Ritz crackers ($1 each)
8 100 Calorie packs ($.64 each)
4 Kraft Lunchables with drinks ($.75 each)
2 Cool Whip ($.02 each)
3 boxes Velveeta mac and cheese ($.64 each)
3 boxes of Rice Krispie ($.99 each)
2 boxes of Raisin Brand ($.99 each)
2 boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats ($.99 each)
1 box of Frosted Flakes ($.99 each)
3 boxes of Kashi waffles ($.30 each)
2 Kraft mayo ($.50 each)
Kraft Bagelful ($1.19)
California pizza (2.50)
and a ton of kraft mac and cheese box and individual size

For those of you who are curious about how I do this, or just starting out couponing.... I recommend printing coupons from www.coupons.com Because Target will let you use their store coupons combined with manufacture coupons, I find that this is where you can get the biggest savings. However, there are some that get good savings too through CVS or Walgreens.

For example, I may go to http://www.target.com/, print out a coupon for $1 off of 2 boxes of Wheat Thins. I then may print off (2) $1 off manufacture coupons-- one for each box. So, I have a total of $3 off. If the Wheat Thins are $2.99..... then I get them for free!!! See how it works!!:)

You will go on your computer and install a coupon printer, and then the computer itself will keep track of how many coupons you print out for each item. www.coupons.com updates their list of coupons every week and a half to a couple of weeks. The computer will tell you when you have printed your limit on Wheat Thins, etc. But, you should be able to get several. I keep them on hand, and then when Target has a coupon for that item, I will quickly put them together to get.

On the right hand side of my blog, you will see several websites that I go to for news on the latest coupons out there. For example, Kraft just had $50 worth of coupons on their website. I quickly printed several of them. They tend to go fast, so print off as many as you can, and as quickly as you can!:)

I know that not every Kmart does this, but sometimes they will have double coupon day. In which case, you take a manufacture coupon on an item, and it will automatically ring up double. Pretty cool! I bought $46 worth of household items there, and only spent $11.

Even, if there's a coupon for something that I may not normally buy, but can get it for cents, I buy it, because I can make it work for our family.

When I get up to the counter with my stack, I just forewarn the cashier that I have a ton of coupons. I too, tend to look for a cashier who wouldn't get upset or stressed about the number of coupons I have.:) If you go to Walmart, their policy says that they are supposed to accept internet coupons, but sometimes you will get a cashier is isn't so helpful. I just went there yesterday with coupons, and did the self check out. My coupons wouldn't take, so the manager came over and told me that if they didn't scan she wouldn't take them. They were legitimate coupons, but just depends on the cashier. Sometimes they will take them, sometimes they won't. But, don't be afraid to ask for the manager if you get a cashier that says she won't take them.

I have become addicted to couponing! But, my husband isn't complaining!:) It has saved us a ton of $$. There are a lot of other freebies out there that you can get too. For example, M&M and Mars are giving away chocolate candy bars every Friday through, I believe, September, to the first 500,000! https://secure.realchocolate.com/ Check it out! Happy couponing!!!!!!

My kitties....

I just had to post this picture of my kitties, Anikan and Obi Wan. I was washing the kitchen table and they were both sitting on the kitchen chair, waiting for me to swipe the wash cloth their way. I luckily had my camera close by!

Pocket Change Date Ideas....

A lot of us would probably look back to our college days, remember Top Ramen and all the other ways we were pinching our pennies! We looked for the most inexpensive ways to do everything!
This article reminded me of those days, and really those days now, as it's more important than ever to watch where our money goes!
Here are some really good ideas from Small Notebook, on some very inexpensive date nights.

I will have to give a few of them a try!
Do you have any other ideas for pocket change date ideas? I would love to hear!

These are a few pictures from our time with grandma and grandpa. We had so much fun! We spent a day at Sea World. The high light of our time there was seeing Shamu!

The kids really wanted to get wet, so grandpa set down in the "Soak Zone" with them! They actually didn't really get soaked, but they got a close up view of Shamu.

We loved going through the aquarium and seeing the sharks and manatees. So neat!

We snapped a picture of the kids with grandma and grandpa in front of the seals.

We also spent a day at the beach. It was a perfect day to go.... beautiful weather, warm water, and no wind! The kids found a lot of little shells and a few sand dollars. It was fun just to walk up and down the coast.

My newest hobby... Couponing!

I am so excited to share this! I have been really wanting to pinch some pennies with our grocery bill and have just recently gotten into couponing. I normally use a coupon here and there, but not gone up to the check out counter with a stack! Lol! Well, it is worth the crazy looks that the person behind you might give to you for holding up the line. I bought $43.56 worth of groceries and spent only $19.07 out of pocket!!

Vacation with Grandma and Grandpa

We had a busy and fun with my parents, as they came to visit us from out of state. We took them to all the major places that they had never been to, and it was go, go, go! But, the kids enjoyed every minute of it! They especially liked taking grandma and grandpa to the beach to collect seashells to make a picture frame. I will write some more about this when I get a chance, so stay posted.:)

It's been a really long time, since I have been back on here. My camera decided to give up on me, and I am actually hoping Santa will get me a new one for Christmas!:) For those of you who don't know, we have just moved... again. We were sad to leave our first new house and all of our friends, but are trusting that God is wanting us where we are at, for some unknown reason. We are getting settled and working on finding a good church for us to get involved in. The churches seem to be very few in the area, but we think we have found one.:)
We are busy getting ready for birthdays and Christmas now! Our oldest turns six, five days before Christmas, and our other daughter turns five, two weeks after Christmas, so it is a very busy time for us!
On to something else exciting! My friend makes the most beautiful glass beads and jewelry. Go to http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5276023 to see all the goodies in her shop, The Orange Blossom! She is offering free shipping through December 7th!
